TRULA KOALICIJA
Bio:
TRULA KOALICIJA ("ROTTEN COALITION" in English) formed Predrag Drcelic (nickname's "Skaki") in town of Gornji Milanovac (Serbia) in 1986. It was not a band really, rather project which he wanted to realize with right persons! Soon after he coincidently met Vuja (KBO!) at the Faculty of Law, in Kragujevac, where they both studied then. So they started to work together, made bunch of demo recording in then improvised "Cesnjak" ("Garlick")studio in minimalistic take-up of guitar, drums and vocal! Drums played Vuja's brother Boban Vujic, who is also regular KBO! drummer. All those recordings were done for the author's needs and perhaps for his friends, and not to be distributed further. Best known of above mentioned recordings are "Pogresno vreme za faraone" (Wrong Time for Pharaos) and "Ples svarcvaldskih trolova" (Dance of Schwartzvald trolls). Two of earliest songs ("Berlinski covek" and "Prijatelj da budes") were featured in 1987. on compilation-tape "Les Phantoms de nuit" (on "Phantom Tapes" underground label run by Predrag Petrovic). Time passed indicating even something good might turn up from those stuff, and band decided to make "Best Of" from all recent songs, so in 1988. came out first album (audio cassette) of TRULA KOALICIJA entitled "Trula Koalicija"! Ofcourse, it was made in punk-rock spirit, DIY technique with xeroxed tape covers, home-recorded. Album was fantastically accepted widely across former Yugoslavia, so it was basis for future work and concerts, too. In 1989. came out second album "Secanja" (Memories) produced in the same way. Band gained much more popularity, and all concerts were well attended. Next year, 1990. appeared new album "Ne izlazi iz stroja" (Don't leave the line) which was peak of work then, and also is perfection of sound production in comparison to law budget equipment band had back then. All albums were completed in a matter of one single day, and there were no actual practising, everything was “one, two, three – now!” It was after that very album band made a decision to add a bass guitar, so Ceja (Cvetanovic Dragan) joined the band. He was also from Kragujevac (read "Kragouyevats"- our city in central Serbia) and best Vuja's pal then. And that was that: TRULA KOALICIJA got its final sound, and as a result in 1992. came out legendary, cult album “Plakao sam kad je pala Sekuritatea" (I Cried When Securitatea had Fallen) Album also came out from “Cesnjak” studio, completed in just one day, although this time we practised the songs, unlike for previous albums. Vidan Papic, one of the greatest designer in former Yugoslavia, offered us his graphic idea for the cover, and the result was fantastic! Since then cover became band's logo, and we experienced either sheer adoring, or total boycot regarding this logo. Album went in dreamy edition of 2 thousands cassettes (audio tapes) and even we made 1 thousand more. Even ones who never heard of band, bought the tape, since they liked the cover! Songs off that album become cult, and everybody knows our cover of Bajaga (Momcilo Bajagic) we titled "Alkololicarka" (Alcoholic). Then came war crisis, inflation, impossibility to organize concerts then, since we didn't have support from any government or non-government organizations who supported only their favourites, their favourite bands, and made big profit with them. Because of the war in former Yugoslavia, our lyrics were mistaken with hatred and nationalism. All that came from stupid, shallow-minded people who just take line or two from our song, not even reading whole lyrics! In spite of that, in 1994. band had new album "Pogled u nebo" (A Look in the Sky) which spreaded all over former Yugoslavia in that time of war and crisis. We couldn't play much outside the Serbia, and as a result in 1996. came out live album "Live at K.S.T". Next year we played in Slovenia at big festival "Zgaga"! We manage to play, although after 15 minutes festival collapsed because the motorcycle gang stopped it for some undisclosed reason. In 1998., band had its new album "Ubice nas promaja" (Draught will Kill us) first one which came out as a CD, also for "Cesnjak Records" This album kept established cult place for the band – on the top of underground punk scene! Since then, band had many concerts, but not a new albums... From 2002. to 2005. band didn't work. Then new bassist Dule joined the band, he also play bass in "Boneyard" band from Kragujevac. He was new blood for a band and he is playing very well. We confirmed the band isn't dead! Special popularity we have in Crna Gora (Montenegro) where we have at least 2 concerts per year. Now we are working songs for a new album, and our single "Mali mozgovi" (Small Brains) suggests it will be damn good album! Cheers to all TRULA KOALICIJA fans all over the Serbia, former Yugoslavia and anyplace else!
