SIX FEET UNDER
Bio:
Six Feet Under is a legendary American death metal force hailing from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1993 by vocalist Chris Barnes originally as a side project alongside guitarist Allen West of Obituary. After Barnes’ departure from Cannibal Corpse in 1995, Six Feet Under quickly evolved from a passion project into a full-time band, releasing their influential debut Haunted that same year and helping define the U.S. death metal sound with their groove-laden, crushing riffs and guttural vocals.
Over three decades, the band has released 14+ studio albums, establishing themselves as one of the best-selling death metal acts in the United States and a consistent force on the metal scene. They are known for brutal yet infectious songs that blend death-and-roll swagger with relentless heaviness — a trademark that has kept fans engaged from early classics like Warpath and Maximum Violence to recent works.
Today’s lineup features founding frontman Chris Barnes, alongside bassist Jeff Hughell, drummer Marco Pitruzzella, and guitarists Ray Suhy and Jack Owen — the latter rekindling a creative partnership with Barnes that has been central to the band’s recent output, including their 2024 release Killing for Revenge.
Always pushing forward without sacrificing their brutal roots, Six Feet Under continue recording and touring worldwide, proving their legacy is far from buried.
