SABAIUM
Bio:
Zgodovina skupine se prične v letu 1994 pod imenom CATACOMB. Člani prvotne zasedbe so bili: David Kupčič, Boštjan Temlin, Aleš Šketa in Milko Kraner. V letu 1999 pod okriljem italijanske založbe Seven Art Music skupina izdata svoj CD prevenec »EMBRACED WITH SILENCE«.
History of the band starts in 1994 under name CATACOMB. Original founding members were: David Kupcic, Botjan Temlin, Aleš Šketa and Milko Kraner. In the begining of 1996, Boštjan left the band and was replaced by Tadej Predan. In the summer 1997, David´s sister Vesna join the band as keyboardist. At this time band ultimately changed its name into Sabaium and journey into darkness finally begun. Sabaium played on several gigs in Slovenia and abroad. They appeared on several important festivals in Slovenia (Metal Camp 2004, Metal Camp 2007, Summer Nights Fest 2008, Metal Mania 2004, Metal Mania 2002, Rock Otocec 1999, Fuck of Commercial 1999, Metal Fest 1998 Kranj, Metal Koroška 2000 and on music shows on the Slovenian national television. In the beginning of 1999 Sabaium released their debut album named Embraced With Silence. In this period Sabaium become one of the leading acts in Slovenian metal scene. In January 2002 band split up with guitarist Tadej. In autumn 2002 second album named Beyond was released. At the same time first video clip was recorded for song Tiha pesem (and added to the album as video file). In year 2003 band is facing great inner problems. Constant decline of creativity and different views almost brought Sabaium to its end at its very own decade of existence. Final manifestation happened in June 2004 when band split up with drummer Milko, who used to be important driving force in Sabaium past. Final oblivion seemed never so close. Fortunately, there was enough power in Sabaium remains to start the ritual of re-birth. First phase successfully ended with Jure Hadler joining on drums. The mission of Sabaium re-birth was accomplished with Leon joining on guitar section. In spring 2006 band release their 3rd album Gravity Divine, which represents a new milestone in band´s creativity and music direction. In June 2006, guitarist Leon leaves the band and soon being replaced by Jure Vandur. Sabaium had in fall 2007 a very successful Slovenian tour a supporting act of Slovenian legendary band Interceptor. In year 2008 band mainly worked on new material, which has been eventually extended into year 2009 due to rehearsal place problems and job obligations of band members. In summer 2009 history repeated by Milko coming back to Sabaium on lead clean vocals. Enforced with new/old band member and extensive dose of creativity, another turn in bands music direction happened. In April 2010 band starts to record their fourth album with Dalibor Sterniša at DB Recordings Studio in Radovljica, Slovenia. Recording and mixing of new album, named Connection Lost, was finished in August 2010. Release date will be on 9th October 2010. At the very same day band is starting to promote new album live.
