POLYPHIA
Bio:
Blending technical, weaving instrumentations with hip-hop, jazz and R&B influenced grooves, Dallas, TX-based instrumental outfit Polyphia has created a massively impressive sound that is all their own.
Polyphia re-released their debut full-length, Muse, on Equal Vision Records on April 21st, 2015. The album was originally self-released as an independent artist and is now available as a re-mastered, re-packaged release through the label. Upon its initial release, the full-length debut landed on several Billboard Charts including: No. 5 on Internet Albums, No. 6 on Hard Rock Albums, No. 13 on Independent Albums, No. 22 on Top Rock Albums, No. 71 on Top Current Albums, and No. 76 on Top 200.
The band released their highly anticipated sophomore full-length Renaissance, on March 11 and has sold over 11k copies to date, 2016. The album was recorded with Nick Sampson (Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men) who co-produced it with Polyphia guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage. Renaissance introduced a new conceptual and artistic direction for the trio's sound, vibe and visual aesthetic, that sees the band embracing their eclectic musical tastes (which include EDM, hip hop, pop and classical music) to create their own innovative blend of technical, yet melodic instrumental arrangements.
Polyphia is also currently writing for a new EP that they will release in 2017, which will take on a very different direction from all previous releases, with guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage taking creative lead on the project as both artists and producers.
