GHOST OF VERONICA

Bio:
Ghost of Veronica It was 2014 in a village near Gornja Radgona in Slovenia, when the two founders - Rok Mihalič (keys) and Zoltan Durič (guitar) - who had previous experience from the band "Dark Sphere", developed and started an idea that quickly grew. Soon after Aleksej Ošlaj (vox), Tomaž Fras (bass) and Simon Fabjan (drums) joined and formed what is today known as "Ghost of Veronica".
The name originates from a local Slovenian legend that tells a tale of a son of a powerful count that fell in love and secretly married a golden haired beauty named Veronica. The Count did not approve of their marriage and accused Veronica of using witchcraft to seduce his son. This led to the first witch trial on Slovenian soil. Even though Veronica was found innocent, she was imprisoned in a castle, left to die of hunger. The Count was getting impatient... slow death did not satisfy his lust for vengeance. He sent two knights after Veronica; she was drowned and her body thrown off a cliff. Legend continues, that every moonlit night, Veronica still returns on the rocky cliff to cry and curse her murderers.
The extreme genre of the songs is a hybrid of black, industrial, gothic and doom metal. In early 2016, they released their first single »Avalerion« with their former drummer Leno Kaj Lainšček. With the help of producer Mihael Jelenko, they further developed their sound and in January 2017 released their debut EP »My Darkness Welcomes You«.
