MASTER BOOT RECORD (MBR) is the acclaimed Italian computer-metal project created by producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Vittorio D’Amore, better known as Victor Love. Emerging from Rome in 2016, MBR has forged a unique sonic identity by merging extreme metal, industrial music, chiptune aesthetics, classical influences, and the digital spirit of vintage computer culture. Inspired by the sounds of early PCs, demoscene software, video games, and heavy metal, the project transforms technological nostalgia into a futuristic and unmistakably aggressive musical experience.
What began as a studio experiment quickly evolved into one of the most recognizable names in the global synth-metal underground. MBR has released a prolific catalogue of albums through labels including Data Airlines, Blood Music, and Metal Blade Records, earning multiple #1 positions on Bandcamp charts and attracting a devoted international following.
Although conceived as a solo project, MASTER BOOT RECORD has grown into a formidable live act featuring virtuoso guitarist Edoardo Taddei and drummer Giulio Galati, bringing the project's hyper-precise digital compositions to stages across Europe and beyond.
With releases such as Floppy Disk Overdrive, Personal Computer, and the 2024 album Hardwarez, MBR continues to push the boundaries between machine and human creativity. In 2026, the project further expanded its catalogue with REALTIME EXECUTION, reaffirming its position at the forefront of modern cybernetic metal. Defined by the motto “100% Synthesized, 100% Dehumanized,” MASTER BOOT RECORD stands as a singular force where code, circuitry, and metal collide.
