HIDEOUS DIVINITY

Bio:
Hideous Divinity It’s time for HIDEOUS DIVINITY to face a new creature. A new monster.
Due March 22nd via Century Media Records, Unextinct brings the music of Blacknical death metal furies HIDEOUS DIVINITY even closer to a new dimension of unspoken terror and frenzy. “The new creature changes again, morphing into a superior entity,” says Enrico Schettino, “and in light of said transformation, the new album even features a song named ‘ATTO QUARTO,’ ‘Fourth Act,’ continuing the voyage that begun on Simulacrum with ‘Anamorphia Atto Terzo.’ The monster’s face breeds nothingness. But its echo, its ghostly trace reverberates through recurring motifs, offering the listener an ephemeral but immanent beacon amidst an engulfing sea of chaos. Beyond the shadow of a doubt, Unextinct is the album in which the music is conceptually and imaginatively far more eloquent than its lyrics.”
Formed in 2007 in Rome, Hideous Divinity quickly set to work on releasing their first demo the same year, Sinful Star Necrolatry. Over the course of the next five years, the Italians changed lineups, refined their songwriting, and eventually inked a deal with American death metal stable Unique Leader Records. With the California-based label, Hideous Divinity released three immensely heavy, wickedly technical, and brazenly brutal albums, the last of which was 2017’s Adveniens effort. Lauded by death metal fanatics the world over, the album ostensibly furthered Hideous Divinity’s high-concept filmic theme and blended tech- death mantra.
2019 is the year of the deal with Century Media Records, washed down with the release of the critically appraised album Simulacrum. If Simulacrum brought to the fore their trademark articulate riffage and pummeling intensity, tapping into the blackness that had been brewing since Adveniens. The release of 'Simulacrum' is followed immediately by a successful US tour supporting Vader together with Abysmal Dawn and Vitriol in February 2020. Response is amazing, and another huge tour in Europe supporting Terrorizer is already scheduled for April 2020...
...Then, what we all know happens. The Covid pandemic puts an undefined halt on all live plans. In this climate of uncertainty and frustration a new release takes its form, soon to become an EP. 'LV-426' is recorded in January 2021 and released in April, featuring two new songs plus a cover of Coheed and Cambria's 'Delirium Trigger'. The release concept is once again cinematographic, based on James Cameron's 'Aliens'.
Still unable to perform live for the rest of 2021, HIDEOUS DIVINITY are back on the stage in early 2022 and tour America again in the spring, after the long Covid hiatus, supporting Hypocrisy and Carach Angren. In the summertime it's time for European festivals again, including an amazing performance at Brutal Assault in Czech Republic. New music is already on the making. Another successful live appearance, this time on the legendary metal cruise '70000TONS OF METAL" is followed by a new European tour (the first since 2018) supporting Belphegor and Kampfar. Simultaneously, a new single is released: 'Mysterium Tremendum' is the prelude to the new on-the-making creature.
Recorded once again at 16th Cellar with Stefano "Saul" Morabito behind the consolle, Unextinct carried the atmospheric blaze and violence to even greater extremes. As a symbol of the undying flame the new record feeds upon, “Unextinct” denotes the unextinguished, still-burning fire below the earth’s surface; a fire that keeps burning regardless of the destruction to which we have subjected the world.
