AEPHANEMER

Bio:
Aephanemer Aephanemer is a French symphonic melodic death metal band formed in Toulouse in 2013, known for blending the intensity of melodic death metal with the elegance and structure of classical music. Originally starting as a one-man project by guitarist Martin Hamiche, the project quickly expanded into a full lineup featuring Marion Bascoul (vocals, rhythm guitar), Mickaël Bonnevialle (drums), and Florian Ménard (bass).
The band first gained attention with the instrumental EP Know Thyself (2014), before fully defining their sound on their debut album Memento Mori (2016). Their music combines fast, intricate guitar work, orchestral-inspired arrangements, and harsh vocals—often delivered in French—creating a distinctive identity within the modern European metal scene.
Aephanemer’s international profile grew with Prokopton (2019), released via Napalm Records, followed by A Dream of Wilderness (2021), which further refined their fusion of neoclassical melody and extreme metal aggression. Their fourth album Utopie was released in 2025 and showcases an even more ambitious approach, with complex compositions and expanded orchestral textures.
The band has built a strong live reputation through extensive touring across Europe and appearances at major festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, and Motocultor, earning praise for their precise, high-energy performances. Today, Aephanemer are widely regarded as one of the most prominent acts in the new wave of French melodic death metal, pushing the genre toward a more symphonic and cinematic direction.
